18 and never dated any other guys?

Hi Reddit! I'm a new user so please have some patience if I do something that most other daily Reddit users don't do. This will be a slightly longer post so again please have patience with me. Without further ado, here I go. I'm 18 years old coming from a small-ish high school of roughly 600 people going to college out of state in Oregon. I've been out since I was 15, and plenty of my friends and family know. I'm very comfortable and secure in my sexuality. However, in general, I'm a very shy and somewhat awkward guy. I struggle with loving myself in the other important ways, (looks, interest, personality, etc.) I tend to lack confidence, and this causes me to just spend a lot of my time on the net. In high school I never dated any of the few other openly gay guys, I never went to gay bars or pride parades, never went to gsa, and never went online dating/hookups. I can't tell if why I avoided the community, but a little bit was a lack of confidence, and another reason was due to the lack of availability. ANYWAY, I don't want to be single forever. I want to have one night stands and boyfriends and maybe even a husband and family one day. But im at a total loss of how to date or meet guys in the gay world, as I've had little experience and little confidence. Is there any advice gay reddit users would give me? (I'm whiling to hear out lesbians and straights too; you never know how similar our situations might be and what wisdom you might have to share)
