Told my (bi) roommate I have feelings for him

I told him I had feelings for him before thanksgiving break, he said he had them too, that he just repressed them. We both agreed that we would still be the same; we are really good friends. However, he didn't say whether or not he still had these feelings for me. How do I deal with this? What's the best course of action? Should I touch on the topic more or just continue crushing on him for a whole semester again? I really wish to ask him on a date after we are roommates but it's just hard holding out. We both want the same exact things out of a relationship and we are both dating other people and getting hurt. It just really sucks seeing him get hurt, but I should take my mind off of guys for a while.
