Masculine Pet Names [gay men]

I have been dating this guy for about three months. Throughout this time as I became more comfortable with him I started calling him "baby". But, yesterday he told me that word made him cringe. I wanted to find something that was cute meanwhile he approves of. We brainstormed together to find a pet name that makes him feel masculine but still is cute. The only one we could thing of was "handsome". Does anyone else have this problem, or have found a solution?We live in Salt Lake City proper and are super out and open.
