/r/gay is looking for active moderators.
Hey sub,I fully recognise that this is the 4th time in 3 months that I'm asking for moderation help in a green post; but this time I am making a dedicated thread to the subject./r/gay has grown a lot over the past 4 years - half it's lifetime ago, we were at 1,000 subs and the place was expressly used for porn. When I took over for /u/violentacrez, I decided to whip it into shape. That included the removal of thousands of really crappy porn posts and links to creepy "teen" porn blogs. I later recruited great help, including /u/esosa233 who has done a lot for the stylesheet and is a great contributing moderator. This last month, I realised I was doing by far the majority of the work on the subreddit, with most moderators not having contributed at all in the last 3 months, and having barely contributed over the last year. I gave them a week to respond, with the opportunity to step up to the plate and actively participate, but I did not get a response from any moderator - so I decided to remove them all. Every one of them has either not responded, not been on reddit, or been understanding that I am interested in further help. The new mods I've recruited since then have been an excellent help, so I've decided to take it upon myself to get a few more recruits. We do not have any strict disqualification parameters, we only as that users be active on reddit, and willing to stick around for the long term. Here is a link to the application
