Why gay people always look for the perfection?

I am not rich. They say I have a beautiul face but I don't have an athletic body. I am 19, so I am young. People love my hair. I am not the smartest but I am not stupid. I am an average guy.I don't wanna become a model, the smartest, the richest or most famous person. I don't wanna compete with anyone.So why, I constantly feel that gay people are competing with each others? Why I constantly feel that if you don't look perfectly perfect other gay people will leave you behind? And why this thing is not just a teenager period but also mature gay men seems thinking like they were 18?I wish gay community was more kind and less superficial.
