how do I go about finding gay social circles?

Hi! So this is my first post, and I'm fairly new to reddit so please be kind! I am a 21 year old gay male, I came out when I was roughly 15, so being gay shouldn't be anything new. But I still feel like it is.In all of the time that I have been out and open, I have not been able to find any kind of social group in the gay community. I know a few lesbians here and there, and I have made gay friends, but it always ends with them wanting something sexual, me finally caving, and us ruining our friendship. I don't know what I want right now, as I am still rather young, so I would like to make some friends who can understand, and be just friends.A little background, I live in a small "city" (over glorified town) in Montana, (United States for anyone outside of it) there are no gay bars I know of within 150 miles, the only one I know of in the state is like 200-250 away, the only gay group I know of is with the college, but I'm not a student, and I've looked for those different meet ups everyone always talks about online, but I haven't been able to find any. Basically every gay person I have met was from grindr, so that explains why it always turns sexual.Anything helps! I may have been out for several years but I still know almost nothing about gay people or gay culture and I'm kind of ashamed.
