I really loved the ending. I wish that they could have been more explicit.. because what's happening now is exactly what I predicted would happen due to lack of explicitness.
Look at pretty much any public article or video and you'll see a mixture of pure homophobic hate, or dismissive views expressed purely down to ignorance via heteronormality.
There is no way to win this one. They could never air an explicit gay scene, because homophobia. They aired as much as they dared, but it was just short of what we needed to show the world that gay, healthy relationships do blossom naturally and gay people and children do exist and do need representation.
It's a catch 22. Couldn't air more than they did, and what did air was just short enough for the widespread heternomrality we're now seeing everywhere, dismissing that korrasami ever even occurred, or better still that it came out of nowhere; completely oblivious to the fact that they only see it that way because they can only detect romance between men and women.
If it isn't confirmed officially soon I think I'll lose my mind because of these bloody idiots..
