Brooding gay men

I’m 21 y/o gay male living in nyc and I have always been captivated by brooding, quiet, sulking, calm, mischievous, somewhat removed men. Does anyone have any experience with guys like this? I’ve met a handful but they were all straight. This type person usually has a troubled past, so I would imagine there would be a fair amount in the gay community, given our social conditions.
