How popular is Gothic clothing amongst gays?

I always dress in full-black; heavy boots, my trousers have fabric strips on them which clip to each-other; generally dark looking attire. I'm just wondering to how many other gays would find that off-putting, or if others would be dissuaded by clothing like this; I know that it's not exactly normal, but I get the feeling that clothing like this is considered very "non-gay" to some people.
