Action Alert in /r/MensLib: Write Congress about the Restore Honor to Service Members Act
Hello, /r/gay!Don't Ask, Don't Tell was repealed in 2011, but tens of thousands of service members, unjustly discharged based on their sexual orientation, still live with tarnished records, unable to claim the benefits they earned through their service. The Restore Honor to Service Members Act would require the Secretary of Defense to revisit these service members' discharges, and to grant "honorable" status to anyone discriminated against under DADT.Please join /r/MensLib in demanding that our Congressional representatives vote "yes" on this bill. Here's the link to our post, where you can find more information about the bill, and a draft letter that you can use to get started. Our sincere thanks to the mods of /r/gay for joining in this cause and allowing us to share it here.
