New To Gay Dating/Sydney Scene

Hi so I'm a 29 year old dude that just moved to Sydney for work, and have started to robustly explore the gay scene after not acting on it at all previously. I have just been going out solo and its usually been great the last couple of times because I am a fairly athletic dude and have received a lot of attention on the dance floor, but the night mostly ends up with me maybe hooking up with someone at the club and then walking home.Although I have got a few numbers and a date or two, I find I am really struggling to capitalise on the adventures because I feel like I am such a newbie and lacking the proper gay education/protocol as such? I don't personally know any other gay peeps so could any veterans of the scene please give me any tips of what dudes normally expect/what they would do when meeting someone they like on the dance floor or when meeting up for a date at a pub?
