My friend has been having a really hard time meeting other gay guys

My friend/roommate is gay and has been trying to meet guys. He's a big fan of friendship leading to relationships, only problem is he has no idea how or where to meet other gay guys in a way that's not gay bars where he says everyone's just kinda looking for a hookup, or isn't his kind of guy because he's not really a big "club" guy anyways. He's been trying pretty hard on sites like Tinder, Plenty of Fish, and Okay Cupid, with incredibly limited luck.We live in the general Seattle area, which is supposedly a great place to meet people, but he's trying to stay away from Seattle Proper because it tends to be a lot of guys who don't have transportation because they don't need it, which leads to him needing to do all the driving or else a hangout takes two hours for them to get here on public transit.It feels like it's really starting to wear on him and make him feel a little more isolated in the world, and I'd really like to try to find some suggestions for where to find someone. Any suggestions?In case it would help with ideas of where he might find people with similar interests, here are a few facts about him:•He's really into music•He's a pretty big gamer, just doesn't have the hardware or money to keep up with his habit•He skates•Smokes marijuana and drinks but does not like cigarette smokers•And he wants someone who doesn't feel like they've made being gay a staple of their personality. They're okay with just being who they are, and it happens to include being gay. He's not a fan of the more flamboyant type of gays, or guys who are overly extroverted.
