I fell in love with the wrong guy

I'm in college, it's the end of my freshman year. I met this guy. We've become really close. He is so kind and sweet and nice and handsome and I love him.Flashback to December (It's now April). I had been in love with him since October. This girl who was a mutual friend of ours told him I liked him and he freaked out. He already knew I was gay, but I guess the fact that I liked him weirded him out. He stopped talking to me. I didn't hear anything from him until after Christmas break when we came back to school in January. We're friends again now. Just as close as before. I thought I was over him, but now that we're friends again, my feelings are coming back. Maybe I never stopped loving him. I don't know what to do. I love him so much but I feel that if he even gets the smallest inkling that I love him I'll lose him forever. Anyone have any suggestions about what I should do?
