Is aging harder on gay men?
Is aging harder on gay men? If so, why is this?Speaking for myself, as a still fairly boyish-looking 21yo (expressive eyes, slim build, lankly-gangly arms and legs, etc), I do internalize my own attractiveness in some of my boyish and youthful features and I'm honestly afraid to lose them. I interpret them as a look that makes me "cute" compared to many of my other male friends who see their larger more masculine, muscular look as what makes them attractive.I am aware that this look will not last forever and will diminish with age. I feel many women may feel this way as well perhaps, but I wanted to see if other gays felt this insecurity is well. Why do some of us feel like we really want to hold onto our more boyish features? Is boyishness or the boyish look sort-of the male equivalent for what we perceive as looking "cute" or something? If so, why?
