I just did something really embarrassing please help, I am stressing and freaking out.

Sorry for the title. So a cute guy helped me with a 3D Printing project yesterday and I wanted to ask him out but I was too nervous. So today, I went to the center to check on the project and I just went for it and asked him out through the clerk that was there today, but it was really awkward and she just said no he's not gay in a awkward voice and I just fast walked out of there. I still have to go in for the project i'm doing and she's probably made fun of me to the whole staff, she's probably his girlfriend too fml. what do I do, help me out?
