Magic.
He wanted to take me out to dinner to a this nice Italian restaurant. We had this margarita flatbread pizza as an appetizer that was one of the best things I have ever tasted. He told me about his day and the training they had to do (he’s a firefighter). I loved just sitting there, eating my Gnocchi and listening to him.We then went downtown to listen to live music in a fancy old hotel and watched people ballroom dance. My favorite to watch was this older man, whom I named Henry. He was maybe in his 70s and was dressed kind of frumpy but was a phenomenal dancer. With every move he made these sassy facial expressions that were so adorable, they would crack me up and leave me with a lingering smile. We sat at our table picking out all of our favorite dancers and explaining why; the tall slender couple all dressed in black with slicked back white hair, because they seemed mysterious and sophisticated. The short lady who wore a small floral dress with a tiny black cardigan with wirey black and white hair, because she looked like a little porcelain doll. And the couple that seemed all too perfect, twirling around like they had been rehearsing for months, because they seemed like they were out of a romantic movie.Afterwords, we checked out a bar on the 95th floor of a high rise and had some drinks and looked out over the city. It felt magical. Everything about the whole night felt magical. It felt like a dream. I felt like I could see the whole world.Tonight the world felt good. People felt good. Everyone and everything felt happy. I was happy. It’s been a while since I was this happy. We held hands for the first time on the drive home.I’ve finally found a man who is respectful, kind, generous, adorable, sweet and thoughtful.
