Falling For Someone's Personality Primarily?

I have just got to know. Does this happen among gay men? Where you simply end up truly desiring someone's company not for anything particularly sexual but more their heart and soul? Of course there is going to be some physical attractions there too, don't get me wrong, but has this happened/ does it happen to sober gay men?
