Has anyone here ever asked a guy out in person they weren't sure was gay?

Or maybe you do it somewhat often. Just curious because last month I was on a family vacation in LA and I was shopping alone at a clothing store and this guy that worked there was talking to me a bit. Judging by the way he spoke and his general body language I felt somewhat certain that he was gay. I know he was probably just doing his job chatting me up a bit but he was the finest black man I've ever seen tight body, no body hair, sexy tattoos, soft boyish features and the neatest haircut I'd ever seen.Generally I don't find many black guys attractive and I've never asked a dude out in person which was why it was so weird when without thinking about it I almost asked him if he was gay and I almost asked him out before I remembered I was staying with family and I was sort of seeing another guy at the time that is now my boyfriend. I don't really regret not asking him out since I live across the country but I was just taken aback a little by how ready I was to ask this dude out without even thinking about it.
