Is it weird that I finally feel comfortable being out to my family?

In the past, I had to deal with my parents literally saying to almost every person who noticed I acted different: "he's.......ya know." I had to deal with my parents saying, "so which one is your girl friend," after coming home after hanging out with my girl friends. My mom once told me, "if you want to live in California, you should move to San Francisco because there are a lot of gays there." She told me that before I came out. I came out October 7, 2015. It's been 3 months and I no longer have to deal with my parents saying the weirdest stuff. I finally had a moment where I said to myself, "wow. So maybe this is what it feels like to be out and proud."
