Shifting Standards

I'm a straight mid-western male. If I had wandered into Little House on the Prairie 100 years ago - I would have been offered some farmers 13 year old daughter, with a dowery of 20 acres and 4 cows to take her off his hands, but a gay fella would have been ridden out of town on a rail, at best. These days as a 22 year old man, if I made advances on a 17 year old girl, I am pervert, and a sexual offender. Yet if I were an 18 year old boy and a 56 year old man got me to go willingly back to his apartment, well that's just fine. Can somebody show me the rainbow in this?
