It's frustrating but also humorous how hitting on people will change from now on...
Like, it's never really been a thing years ago, because gay people were shunned or afraid of being openly gay, but now that the gay community is being integrated more into society, that hot guy you see in a barnes and noble could either be gay or straight and you have no way of knowing until you awkwardly have to go through finding out his sexuality. I wonder if, as years go on, this will be an "oh well, he's not a match" or "Oh, hey, score!" kind of moment. These situations will find there way into mainstream TV (well, it already kind of has). At this moment, if you ask a straight man out, he will probably be embarrassed or, worse, angry and lash out. People are still adjusting to the idea of homosexuality. Heterosexual couples are of course, more common and it's easy for them to meet in a random place and most of the time, connect in a romantic relationship. As it stands homosexual people have to stick to gay bars, websites, or areas. In the future will it be a common dilema and shrugged off like asking someone if they have a quarter for the meter? In 200 years, will sexualities clashing still be an awkward and uncomfortable moment? What do you guys think?
