How do I talk to guys?

Hey.So I'm actually a bisexual guy in high school and lately I can't get this one guy (who is gay and sorta out?) who I am like VERY distant acquaintances with out of my head and would like to start talking to him more but don't know how. We don't really share any friends and are only in one school thing together, and since I only have like a week left of school it'll be really hard to forge any sort of relationship now. I'm kind of nervous because he's a popular guy and I don't really know him that well. He seems very nice but also really sarcastic and chill and I think it would be such a nice relationship or experience at the least, I'm just afraid that his friends will judge me or vice versa and that it will be completely doomed from the start. Should I just let it go for now since it's kind of far fetched and wait until next year? Any advice?
