Boyfriend using grindr

I've recently found my boyfriend on grindr but do not know what to think about it. I have confronted him but he keeps on saying it's complicated or that he doesn't want to talk about it. I have also had two people messaging me saying that he's been sending them inappropriate snaps on snapchat. I have also found him on an app called Hornet which in my mind both of them are hookup apps. Am I over exaggerating about it or not? He says I am. He says because it's nearing freshers week he's only on it to who the new people are. He still had 'Right Now' on his profile for about a month before I got really really upset about it then he changed it and changed his picture. My mind's all over the place about it but I don't know what to think. Help?
