I need an anal prep refresher course

So I've been using one of these rectal syringes to prep for sex for a while now. Warm water. Lubed up. Until clear. Every time, however, it's still a hit or miss thing. Sometimes it's great, and I feel like a pornstar. But sometimes when he pulls out I can smell it before I even turn around to check for myself. The embarrassment is just overwhelming. Can anyone one offer some advice and guidance on how to get it 100%? Pics of whatever product you use would be beneficial too!
