I just took the leap and told my parents I'm gay.

24 year old gay male here. I know I'm a bit older than most people who go through the same thing, but I've been too afraid to tell them for so long. But today I finally did it. I told my parents. I was surprised by their reactions at first. My mom, who I thought would be ok, had a rough time of it while my dad, who I thought would have a hard time, was very open in conversation with me. Now both are still pretty uncomfortable with the idea, but we're starting to reach a level of mutual understanding and respect. It's gonna be a slow road to acceptance, but I'm really glad I got us started on that path. 🏳️‍🌈
