Hi. I am new! Let's chat? Young and passionate about LGBTQ+ rights!

Hi everyone! When I say I am new, I don't mean to being gay, just to reddit lol. I am 17 years old and I come from a part of the world where being myself isn't accepted, encouraged or advised for that matter because it can lead to unwanted consequences! I am kind of still learning about reddit but I am hoping to get to know people from all over the world and to talk to them about anything and everything. Also my question is: Why is is that unless you are straight, you are expected to come out and declare your sexuality, as if it in any way takes away from who you are or what you have to say? I never understood that. I mean it's not like the world is gonna end if you're gay so just some food for thought! I am not always here and I would love to chat about this and many more topics.
