Should i beat up a homophobe?

A few classfellows recently came out to me, followed by me coming out to them. Then one day, one of boys told me how a student in student government and schools' 1 percent keeps giving homophobic taunts to him. I tried to confirm this with other boys(single sex school lol) and they have told me instances where the said homophobe has given them taunts. I want to beat the guy up or atleast shut him up with a threat to report his taunts to his dream college which matters a lot to him. Should i do it?
