Making LGBT friends without looking like I want to sleep with them?

I just recently joined an LGBT+ community and my aim is to make friends. But I'm mostly friends with a lot of straight people and I don't know how to build up a friendship in a LGBT+ without seeming like I want to sleep with them... if you can understand.I have met a lot of really cool people that I'm very keen on becoming friends in the LGBT community I just joined, but I want to make the first move of reaching out to become friends...What should I do? I've added a few people in facebook, and the community is having a few group event soon which I'm keen on going. (But want to hangout with them outside the community)Cheers
