Is coming out to my parents on my moms birthday sort of like proposing at someone else's wedding?

My brother knows, sister doesn't and they live in other cities. I'm having dinner with my mom and dad this weekend for my mom's birthday. It'll be just us. I THINK they will take it just fine. My mom will probably initially cry for a second because she's just an emotional person. My dad will be fine.
