The good and bad parts of being gay are the same thing for me.
This is what I've learned three months after coming out. I am friend with a group of straight men and they all know I like dudes. The bad thing about being gay is that you never know exactly where you stand in a group of straight people.I don't think about our differences constantly, in fact, I don't think about it most of the time. But occasionally, the guys will comment on women they find attractive and I am woken to the realisation that there are things I can never understand about them and vice versa. It's as if we are in the same room but separated by a thin layer of glass, they are on one side and I am on the other - alone.I am jealous that they can say they like women without a flinch of hesitation. Their comments might be a little vulgar but ultimately it's true to who they are. Whereas I never know when should I assert my preference in the group, if at all. They may know what I like but do they really want to hear it?The good thing about being gay is that I do not need to live by the gender script, basically, all the time.Straight men follow a narrow and concrete gender script. It's not enough that they just like women, they also have to watch out how they dress, how they talk, how they carry themselves to avoid being judged. That's why they police each other's gender norm by teasing each other for being "gay."I do not feel the same pressure as they do. It's easier for me to write and follow my own gender script because society does not have one for me yet. I can kiss guys, I can kiss girls (platonic kisses when I am drunk), I can enjoy tv shows targeted at both men and women, I can endorse feminism without being judged (I told them that marginalised groups tend to relate to each other), etc. Bottomline, if they call me gay they would just be stating a fact that everyone already knows. In conclusion, the bad and good parts of being gay seem to be two sides of the same coin. This is just my observation from interacting with a group of straight friends. If you guys have different stories to tell please share.
My friend got this LGBT tattoo, and he wanted me to share it with all you amazing people

Need some advise
Hey all,So here's my issue, I'm in year 12, and I have a crush on a guy that I've been friends with for a few years. The thing is, I think he's gay but I'm not sure, he's definitely sent some like gay-ish snaps and stuff, but he might just be joking (wouldnt put it past him).I just want to know what the best way of going ahead with it, or if someone is in the same kind of situation. Is there something more than just talking to him I can do?thanks for all the help <3

Think my mom knows Im gay but I dont want her to?
Long story short I think my mom slightly implied of me having a boyfriend in a serious way. Im really just incredibly uncomfortable since. Said something like, "Looking for a girlfriend or.. Something else.." I'm 18 and male also. How would she know? I never acted gay or flamboyant or anything, I dont think i've ever shown interest in boys to her but suddenly she knows? At most maybe when I was younger I said a man was attractive or so,ething, or maybe her catching me shaving my legs one time, but those just seem so minute and nothing could be taken.Seriously, how would she even get it? Maybe i'm taking away too much and it was just a joke? I really dont want my parents to know, I already feel uncomfortable around them about sex, and the connotations of being gay don't make me feel better. They arent even very religious but I still dont want them to know. Any help? Do you think she knows?
anyone in medellin at the moment?
Im looking for people to go out with staying in hostels is fun but doesnt always mean the people are open minded or even want to go to a gay club when they are. So Im looking for someone that does. I also got my phone stolen which makes it harder.
