Suddenly ignored

I've been single a little over a year now and I am having trouble getting back into the dating scene. Things start off well, we talk for a few day's, make plans for a date, continue talking then a day or so before the date my last message just sits on read/delivered, so I know the guy read it. I've been ghosted before but its been almost 6 months without even getting to a first date, maybe I'm missing something, but I just feel frustrated. This has been multiple guys, on different apps, and a few that I've met at bars/work/and my favorite coffee shop. On occasion I've bumped into the guys out and about, indy has a pretty tight lgbtq community, they bolt as quick as possible, all with really lame excuses. Is this just bad luck or should I start buying cats. I miss that feeling of being able to just have another person to share yourself with, and I'm finding single life to be more difficult than I thought.
