Why is it so hard to find a boyfriend?

I don't mean to sound vain but I'm an attractive, tanned, bearded man. You'd think it would be easy to find someone as good looking as me, but unfortunately, it's not. I'm still in the closet because I live in a small town and I guess I'm still in the closet because I'm afraid of what everyone will think. I don't know but do you have any tips on how to catch a boyfriend? I like to travel to the bigger cities and go to gay clubs because that's when I'm a real catch.
