Making a move on my crush

I'm really shy when it comes to this kind of stuff and I've never had much success in the dating department, but I really want to change that.There's a guy in my department at uni who I have a crush on and I'm pretty sure he's gay. I haven't had the courage to approach him and introduce myself. Problem is, now the semester is over and I won't be seeing him until late July and I don't know if I can wait that long.So I'm considering adding him on fb. I can't help but feel it would be weird since we've never even spoken irl.Should I add him on fb, or would it be better to wait it out? And if I were to add him, what then?
