I want to see a therapist. Is being not-homophobic part of their profession?

If they were conservative/religious, would my sexuality interfere with the therapy sessions? I want to see a therapist because I'm trying to overcome my passive depression that I've been fighting alone for the past 2 years. Even my parents think I'm a completely happy person.Thanks
