Discussing HPV with a potential partner?

So I've always used protection, but earlier this summer I started noticing tiny white spots on the top side of my shaft. Eventually they became more numerous and I went to the doctor. Long story short, it's very likely that I have HPV: the 'warts' aren't raised at all and are really just skin discolorations.Anyway, I go to a fairly conservative college so I tend not to hook up with people while at school and there aren't any that I want to date. But then the other day I met a really great guy and we hit it off and just talked for hours. We're going to meet again soon and I'd like to take it slow because 1) I've never dated anyone and 2) I don't know how to have the conversation about HPV. Yes, I understand I need to do it before there's any sexual contact. Yes, I know something like 3/4ths of sexually active adults have HPV. But I really don't know how to approach the subject or what to tell him. I don't want to scare him off because I really like him. I know that ultimately it's his decision to make whether he can deal with this or not, but I'd appreciate any advice on how best to mitigate the blow.
