I would like to hear your ideas for a background story on a character.

So I am in the midst of writing a script and I'm getting writers block. If I'm being honest I don't even know where this will go but I want a bit of a background story to his personal life, something I can't think of. Michael isn't openly gay he doesn't trust anyone, he's in pain from someone doing something but I have no idea what, I want to project that pain into something powerful a monologue of sorts.Any suggestions that can get my brain flowing would be amazing
