Reparative Therapy and Neurological Disorders

I have a closeted friend who has been suffering for several years with narcolepsy/cataplexy. Because of his neurological condition he cannot walk without stumbling or losing control of his legs and requires the use of a wheelchair and cane and is on disability. He came out to me when he was 18 and later went through some sort of reparative therapy which he never divulged to me. He is aged mid-forties, has a wife and child, and has not shared with me recently whether he considers himself straight or gay. I also sense he is losing some cognitive control, evidenced by his obsession with transgender issues and is convinced schools will start castrating boys. Needless to say our recent conversations have not been pleasant as he won't STFU about this fabricated crisis in public schools. This crisis is largely driven by his fears regarding his primary school age child. He is angry and confused and I fear his health will further deteriorate. Here's my question. Can repressed homosexuality have somatic/neurological outcomes? I am convinced he is suffering from severe anxiety over his conflicts in his sexual identity but I'm not finding any resources or peer reviewed scientific articles that shed any light on the article. I would be most appreciative if someone could point me in the right direction.Though an ally I am not up to date on the latest terminology, so I beg forgiveness if I have misspoken or used out of date language. Thank you.
