I'm Civil P'trd but shall we change things?

I was bullied for being gay. I pretended I was OK with it, I hid my sexuality, it all lay dormant until my mid twenties. Familiar story? I am still picking up the pieces in my mid 30's. Is it time us gays changed the way we feel about wanting to conform and instead wanting to create a gay commune? My tendencies are more free and easy (anyone can touch it but only my love gets it) shall we change things? I can see my life being lonely (if I conform) surely we can change this? What about starting a new free love group?
