I had sex with a lot of people of the opposite gender?

Before I came out as gay 4 months ago, I was pretty promiscuous with the opposite sex. I was unsafe at times.The thing is, I never really enjoyed it, I was just lonely and enjoyed the human contact, but I was never really turned on like I was when I had my first gay experience.The thing is, I'm not sure how to explain this to people I may start seeing. I feel like they won't believe that I'm actually gay because I slept with so many people (I regret it btw.)
