Why do YOU hook up?

what exactly does it do for you people? I feel as if I'm not having sex with someone I am dating or have extreme interest in, it's not enjoyable.Is it only a low self esteem thing? Desperate? Or what? I just don't find the appeal of having sex with strangers... But apparently others will be ready in bathrooms, behind dumpsters, etc.What is the point of doing this? Do you guys not care about yourselves? Most guys DONT EVEN ASK YOUR STATUS nor care! Yes, sex has more benefits than master bating. But if the nature of it is nasty or its with someone YEARS older than you, is sacrificing your morals even worth it? :/
