How do you make your talk with other men?

Edit: Just realised I fucked up the title RIPFirstly sorry if this rambles on and I'm on mobile so formatting etc.I'm 18 years old and grew up in a small town in north England. In primary school, calling someone gay would be the general insult. As a result, this didnt exactly make being gay a positive thing. I really hated myself until I realised that I couldn't change who I was so I should just accept myself.I'm quite a shy guy and never been in a relationship but starting uni will give me the opportunity to talk to other gay men. I was just wondering how you can tell if someone else is gay and also how do you talk to them. I've had literally no experience even talking to another gay man.Also is grindr any good for just learning what to say? I'm not looking to get into a relationship, but I would want to be prepared in case I meet someone who I like, be it on grindr or irl.
