Insecure boyfriend

How do I deal with my insecure boyfriend? The majority of his insecurities stem from his past, relationship and whatever else. I won’t deny that some insecurity is my fault but I feel that if he was truly secure with me, the issues he’s created or says that I’ve done wouldn’t actually exist.He is constantly looking for re-assurance that I’m not talking to others, cheating, sure I want to be with him, etc. honestly, it’s the majority of our conversation and daily are these question repeatedly. I try to answer but it’s exhausting. He ends up getting upset because I’m “short” and “not loving” or even that I’m being mean. In the end we argue and I end up feeling like I’m to blame.I’m exhausted of reassuring him and reinforcing this kind of behavior. I want him to start developing critical skills to start trusting me and become more secure with us. How do I start this dialog? Am I wrong to want this?
