Can you make friends at Gay Bars?

Hi, I’m a 22 y/o who recently moved to NYC to pursue my career. Upon arrival, I was blown away by the number of gay men. Compared to other places I’ve lived, there are definitely significantly more gay people and it’s more difficult to identify who is gay.Since moving here with no friends or family, I’ve thrown myself in the gay club scene, attending gay clubs regularly. I do this not because I like them, but because probability wise I have the highest chance of at least identifying the gay people there. While I enjoy dancing at these clubs, I have mild social anxiety and often feel judged in what should be welcoming spaces. It feels like everyone already knows each other and I’m some rando that no one can remember who invited to the party.Any advice for making friends in these spaces?
