Recently I've come to terms with my sexuality and I'm ready to start dating...Now what?

It has taken me a few years after my first homosexual relationship to finally become comfortable with the fact that I am, indeed, very gay. I feel like I'm ready to start "playing the field" just to get some experience, but I'm not really sure how. Maybe it's because I still kind of see myself as an outsider looking in to the LGBT community, but trying to date the same gender seems more complicated than dating the opposite gender. Anyone out there have advice for a complete newb like me? One thing that will probably make it easier is that I attend a fairly liberal university.
