[x-post /r/Homosexuality] (SERIOUS) Yesterday I visited a "hetero friendly gay party...

I am not a native English speaker, so be gentle... :-)Yesterday I visited a "gay, hetero friendly" dance party in The Netherlands. And upfront, to my defense, I am perfectly open minded towards our LGBT community. So yesterday I saw people in a leather "botpants" combined with BDSM leather straps, necklaces and so on.I felt both happy and sad at the same time:Happy because I live in a country where homosexuals are not impeded by law or social environment.Sad because: why is it "a thing" to dress up in leather gear, while your only message is: "I can love males"? Why do most men connect this with "I not only have to express the fact that I can love males but also have to display my "sexual habits"?Would heterosexuals have to run around in armcuffs or ropes at a certain point in time?Ok, last bit is more as an clarification on my reasoning, not that I am actually convinced that will happen. And again, please be gentle, I have told each of my children that if you discover that you like boys over girls or vice versa, it does not matter to us... So definately not trying to insult someone!Saluut!M.
