How long is he going to date me before asking me to be his bf?

I met this guy in November and we started dating early December. I enjoy being with him. I love his personality and the way he makes me feel. We both evolved and grew tremendously as individuals through getting to know each other and building off each other. But the thing I want to ask is how long do I have to date him before he asks me out? Like. How long do people date for before being "a couple"?
