Charlotte, NC - GAY Scene?

What is the gay scene like in Charlotte, North Carolina? I'm 30 years old and would probably be moving to a $60k a year job if my dream comes true! So, I'm debating moving there. Also, are there like roommate-wanted ads in gay bars? I'm thinking something month-to-month for a 2-3 months while I get settled into a new job and find some place nice.
