Would you out a hardcore anti-gay person working for a celeb with a huge gay following?
ETA: Out as in out him as a homophobe, the guy is heterosexual.I know a guy who I met through social media pertaining to a field he works in and that I have a lot of interest in. Eventually he told me that he works for a very big American celebrity in a pretty central role. This particular celebrity is a genuinely good person who tends to be a-political and I'd venture to say that gay men make up a huge percentage of their audience. The guy in question has always been politically conservative but lately he has been dabbling in white nationalism and saying some pretty homophobic stuff. The news about Huckabee really pissed him off and he made a lot of really crude comments that I think that if they were made public, would probably force his client to terminate him on the spot.He isn't doing any of this under a pseudonym and while his social media is private, there are more than a few hundred people that can see it.I have contacts with a journalists who I think would publish a story about this if I sent them screen grabs of some of the more vile stuff he writes. Part of me wants to do this simply because I think that if this celeb's audience knew she had a guy like this working for them, they would quit giving them money and I feel like the consumer has a right to know.On the other hand, this would mean the guy losing his job over social media posts that he assumed were on some levels private (he might be a homophobe but he isn't dumb). I don't know the guy personally so it's not like he could come to my house and kick my ass but at the same rate, he is not a guy I'd want to piss off in person. So r/gay (and particularly gay men), what are your thoughts on this? Just ignore the guy are write him off as an ignorant asshole or start collecting screenshots?
