What is the actual number of gay and bisexual men?

I'm not really out and I don't look for sex actively. I socialize with straight men. Out of say 15 men I met in the last 3 years, I know for a fact 2 were openly gay, at least 3 are closeted bisexuals and 1 closeted gay. That's a lot. These are random guys who used to be my housemates. I would say that it can be as high as 20% of the population.
