Communication in a relationship

I started dating a guy, and we hit it off after some chatting and texting. But after 2 month, and getting to know him a little more, I started to lose interest in him. He texts me everyday, to say hello, and wants to drag me in endless texting session. But it came to a point, I feel it is frustrating, I dont have the time for texting all day. I tried to tell him, texting not my favorite way of communication, but it did change his behavior. I am thinking if I should block him or tell him, I am not interested anymore.
